Saeko Busujima, the beautiful president of the school’s Kendo Club, joins them, as does Saya Takagi, the daughter of an influential politician. However, the duo are not left to face the terrifying situation alone, and are joined by other survivors in their quest. With nowhere left to go, Takashi and Rei then embark on a quest to find what fate has befallen their family members and uncover the source of the apocalyptic pandemic. When the disease and hordes of undead monsters start terrorizing the Fujimi High School in Japan, Takashi Komuro, one of the students of the school, is forced to kill his best friend after he gets bitten and joins the ranks of the undead. As the disease spreads fast and decimates human society in its wake, the show focuses on a group of youngsters in a high school who try to survive the apocalypse. In the blink of an eye, a mysterious, lethal disease inexplicably starts to spread in Japan and elsewhere in the world, resulting in a catastrophic death rate of humans who are then reanimated as the living dead. The plot of Highschool of the Dead, as the anime show’s name suggests, is about a catastrophe that gives rise to the living dead.
